Trips
Rules for participating in a conference - exhibition - seminar - forum:
- The entity’s approval of the participation and the submission of (a scientific paper - research - poster), which must be related to the project, indicating in it that the research is supported by the National Science, Technology and Innovation Plan.
- The attendance period must not exceed 7 days (the actual days + the days added to the assignment according to the country)
- Filling in the substitute professor form or the approval of the researcher’s employer for the attendance.
- No new request will be accepted unless a task-performance document has been submitted for the previous tasks recorded against the researcher.
- No researcher on the project may participate in more than one conference per year.
- The consultant and the co-investigator from outside the University may not participate in conferences.
Procedures for participating in a conference - exhibition - seminar - forum:
- The assignment form is filled in, whether external or internal, and all the data is stated in it with full accuracy. It is essential to write a (number and date) for this form.
- Attaching the scientific paper or the research, the entity’s approval of the participation, and the substitute professor form.
- The form is sent to the Unit at least one month before the date, for it to review it and verify that the project is regular in submitting the financial and technical reports and that the cost of attendance is available in the project budget.
- The participant shall submit a report on what they presented after their return, including any documents, recommendations and the like.
Rules for attending training:
- The training must be related to the project
- The candidate for the training must submit an invitation and the training program from the organizing body, and the training costs if any.
- A letter from the principal investigator with the objectives of the training and an undertaking by the trainee to train the work team after their return.
- An assignment allowance is disbursed for the first thirty days, and beyond that a monthly reward is disbursed to them
- Filling in the substitute professor form or the approval of the researcher’s employer for the attendance.
- No researcher on the project may participate in more than one training per year.
- Training may not be undertaken after the end of the project or during the extension period.
- The consultant and the co-investigator from outside the University may not attend the training courses.
- The costs of training non-Saudis must not exceed 20% of the total training budget of the project

Rules for field trips:
- The field trips must be related to the research project and included in the items of the project budget.
- The principal investigator must specify the destination of the trip, the period of time to be spent, the number of members participating in the trip, and its estimated costs.
- The days of scientific and field trips must not exceed 60 days for each member of the research team per year
- No new request will be accepted unless a task-performance document has been submitted for the previous tasks recorded against the researcher
- It is essential to adhere to the schedule of trips prepared in advance within the requirements of the detailed budget.
