Project extension

  1. If completing the work on the project requires an additional period beyond the original period without any additional financial obligations, the principal investigator must submit a preliminary extension request to the Unit 60 days before the end of the project using form NSTIP_1, including the following documents:
    • A financial report setting out what remains of the approved project budget.
    • A technical plan for the extension period.
    • A scheduled and detailed budget for the extension period, without counting rewards for the research team or the project manager.
    • No request for an increase to the project budget.
  2. The extension period is subject to the same technical and financial regulations governing the work on the project during the original project period, provided that it does not include:
    • Disbursing rewards to the researchers or the project manager.
    • A change in the objectives of the project.
    • An increase in the budget.
  3. A project may not be extended more than once.
