Rules for submitting the project follow-up reports
The principal investigator is obliged to submit periodic technical and financial reports on the progress of the work on the project, as follows:
- A periodic technical and financial report to the Unit every six months in accordance with the approved forms, setting out the technical progress of the project and its financial position.
- An annual technical and financial report at the end of each Gregorian year from the start of the project, for the year elapsed, in accordance with the detailed and the summary annual report forms available on the Plan’s website.
- A final technical report at the end of the project, taking into account the extension period, on the summary and detailed final report forms in accordance with the requirements of the General Secretariat.
- The General Secretariat reviews the annual and final technical reports of the projects and informs the Unit of the decision taken regarding them.
- The Unit informs the researchers of the review results and requests their responses to the reviewers should that be required.
- The Unit has the right to request additional reports when needed.
- The principal investigator is obliged to make the amendments in accordance with the recommendations and observations received from the General Secretariat regarding the annual report, and to take them into account when preparing the next technical report.
- In the event that the final report is not delivered on the specified date, the General Secretariat has the right to deduct all or part of the research team’s reward.
- The principal investigator of the project has the right to delegate some of the duties referred to above to the project manager.
- If no common view is agreed upon, the General Secretariat, in coordination with the Unit, has the right to assign another research team from among the research members or others to complete the research, or to take a decision to cancel the grant, with the research team bearing all the consequences arising from this action, including recovering what has been disbursed of the research team’s rewards.
- The principal investigator may request to postpone the submission of the technical or financial reports beyond their specified date in accordance with the following rules:
- There must be convincing justifications for the postponement request.
- The postponement request must be submitted 30 days before the date of filing the report.
- The extension request must not exceed 30 days for the annual or final reports
